Hifonics ZXE10S4

At the heart of the HiFonics ZEUS EVOLUTION subwoofers are powerful Y35 magnetic drivers with a diameter of 140 mm, driving a large 64 mm voice coil. These are ventilated using thermally optimized pole core vents. Additionally, reinforced T-plates ensure an even longer excursion, reaching up to +/- 17 mm (X-Max).

While pressed paper cones are typically used in budget subwoofers, the ZXE subs rely on expensive, handcrafted paper cones that are double-stitched at the surround — known for delivering excellent sound quality. All these components contribute to an impressive efficiency of 92 or 90 dB at 2.83 volts/1 m. Even with a small amplifier, these subs can produce high output levels.

The Thiele-Small parameters are designed so that ZXE subs can be used to build powerful vented enclosures with decent depth, as well as medium-sized sealed boxes. "Free air" setups are also possible.

The Zeus subwoofers also live up to the HiFonics design tradition visually: a newly designed gasket, the signature blue magnet cover, and the blue-stitched cone surround proudly showcase the HiFonics brand identity.
