A True SQL Kit

The Sylvester SQL board is an impressive speaker setup that combines two different speaker brands, creating a delightful mix of characteristics and sound. With the AP-M60SQL, you get tight, punchy sound with deeper extension than typical SPL drivers, thanks to its longer excursion. The tweeter comes from the Xcelsus XPL28W – a unique horn-loaded 28mm soft dome tweeter with excellent sound characteristics. The sound is split using a crossover filter.

The Apocalypse AP-M60SQL is a 6.5" midrange speaker from Deaf Bonce’s performance line, Apocalypse. This speaker offers a hybrid experience between Sound Quality Level (SQL) and Sound Pressure Level (SPL). With its extended excursion, it delivers a crisp, dynamic sound and goes deeper than standard SPL elements. The AP-M60SQL is optimized for detailed and well-balanced midrange reproduction, with the ability to boost volume and power when needed.

The Xcelsus XPLT28W is a horn-loaded 28 mm soft dome tweeter with extremely high efficiency. It delivers smooth sound while still being capable of playing loudly with low distortion. Ideal for SQL builds, this tweeter perfectly complements the AP-M60SQL midrange drivers, contributing to a refined and enjoyable audio profile.

Using a dBVox crossover filter, the system splits frequencies at 4000 Hz with a 12 dB per octave slope at 2 ohms, ensuring accurate frequency response and smooth integration between drivers.

The board is a sealed enclosure and accommodates 4x6.5" midbass drivers and 2 tweeters. It’s built from durable MDF and features a rear terminal for easy connection. Note that this is a universal enclosure, meaning some adjustments may be required depending on the drivers you choose.

NOTE: The tweeter holes in the enclosure may be smaller than the included tweeters. This is to allow compatibility with most tweeters in the universal enclosure. You may need to widen the hole slightly using a file or similar tool for a perfect fit.
